About Me

Hi, I’m Ed Andrew

I’m a software engineer who never really clocked off from the “tinkering with computers” phase of childhood — I just found a way to get paid for it. By day I build software; by night I’m usually chasing one of a few obsessions.

⌥ Software Engineering

This is the day job and the lifelong hobby rolled into one. I love the whole craft of it — designing systems, untangling gnarly problems, and shipping things that people actually use. A lot of what ends up on the blog starts as a side project that got a little out of hand.

♪ Guitar

When I need to step away from the keyboard, I pick up the guitar. It’s the perfect counterweight to engineering: no compiler, no stack traces, just practice, patience, and the occasional happy accident.

✈ Flight Simulation

I’m fascinated by aviation, and flight simming lets me scratch that itch from the comfort of a desk — learning the systems, flying the procedures, and generally pretending I know what all the switches do.
